Fab Christmas Gifts for Foodies

Bitters Recipe Book

Foodies love cookbooks. Even if they aren’t personally into cooking, leafing through a beautiful book full of sumptuous recipes and accompanying photos is a foodie’s great night in. However! Don’t give a gourmet snob some garden variety, generic cookbook that you’re likely to find in the best-sellers’ section of bookstores. Dig deeper and find the curious, niche recipe books to pique their interest.

Something that recently intrigued me was a recipe book for bitters. I’ll admit that my experience with bitters is limited to pub-style Lemon, Lime & Bitters, so something like Will Budiaman’s Handcrafted Bitters rather excited me. A similar recipe book with a little more historical information about bitters is Bitters: A Spirited History of a Classic Cure-All, with Cocktails, Recipes, and Formulas by Brad Thomas Parsons. Both are also available on Kindle!

My mother-in-law is in a nursing home living with dementia. She loves Ferrero Rocher chocolates. The last time I brought her a box she ate the whole thing. Every.single.one. In one go. :)
